Sea level rise is caused primarily by two factors related to global warming: the added water from melting ice sheets and glaciers and the expansion of seawater as it warms.

Sea level rise is not just an environmental issue but a social justice issue that “low-income housing is often built in flood zones. There’s certainly a justice issue with how we deal with sea-level rise.”
